Astronomical Adventures

Until the Apollo missions returned samples of the Moon to Earth, meteorites were our only source of extraterrestrial materials. Meteorites are not just interesting because they are samples of materials from other regions of the solar system, but also because they are largely left overs from the dawn of the solar system.

To help you learn more about meteorites, we are pleased to provide the following materials:

What is a Meteorite
An article that explains the nature of meteorites.
The Online Dictionary of Meteoritics
A dictionary of terms pertaining to meteorites.
The Meteorite Classification System
A table that presents an organized of the different types of meteorites.
