Robotic Missions to Planet Mars

The dawn of the space age saw the birth of a new way to study the various bodies of the solar system. Over the last 40 years, unmanned "robotic" probes have investigated all the planets except Pluto, various moons, asteroids, and comets. Mars has been the target of many of these missions of discovery.
